Track & Trail first worked at Mt Buffalo NP in 2004 to repair and upgrade walking tracks damaged by a large bushfire in 2003 and the subsequent post-fire erosion that was caused due to the lack of protective vegetation.

Our crews have since returned several times to gradually upgrade and improving more of the extensive network of day walks across this spectacular alpine plateau. As Mt Buffalo is composed of granite outcrops, all our work has concentrated on the use of local rock to construct stone steps, drainage structures and retaining walls which look like they are part of natural landscape. To date Track & Trail have undertaken work on the Cathedral & Hump Track, Chalwell Galleries, Back Wall track, Corral Castle Track, Eurobin Falls Track, Mt Dunn Track, Rollasons Falls Track, the Big Walk, View Point track and the Underground River track.
