Thomas Schmid

Company Manager

Thomas undertakes walking track planning and assessment, and the coordination of construction projects. From the early nineties, Thomas worked throughout the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area with the Tasmanian Parks and WIldlife Service in a variety of roles that gave him broad experience in the management of natural areas, with an emphasis on walking track management. He then worked for several years as a ranger for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, and has also conducted field mapping for conservation and resource management in Papua New Guinea. Thomas formed TTMS in 2001 to supply walking track planning and construction services to national parks services and other land management agencies throughout Australia.

   

Andrew Ferguson

Senior Project Supervisor

One of Tasmania's most experienced track builders, Andrew started with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service in the early nineties and was one of their longest working Track Crew Foremen. Andrew has used his technical skills in drystone construction and elevated timber structures and his excellent team leadership skills to manage highly successful contract projects on the Larapinta trail in the Northern Territory, Wilson Promontory National Park, the Great Ocean Walk in the Otway National Park, across the Alpine National Park in Victoria and in subtropical Lamington National Park in Queensland.

   

Richard Chin

Project Supervisor

While working for the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service for over fifteen years, Richard pioneered many of the drystone techniques which are now used commonly in Tasmania and by us. Richards's ability to think laterally and solve problems, and his uncompromising dedication to high quality work, makes him one of the best track planners and construction technique specialists in Australia. Richard has worked throughout Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Queensland, standout projects include extensive drystone construction at Mt Buffalo National Park in Victoria and Mt Wollumbin National Park (formerly Mt Warning National Park) in NSW.

   

Brett Tooker

Project Supervisor

Like Andrew and Richard, Brett has extensive drystone and timber structure building experience. Brett started as a track worker with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service in 2000. Since then Brett has worked on many TTMS projects including the Gordon Dam surveyors access track for Hydro Tasmania, in Victoria he worked on the Great Ocean Walk in Otway National Park, throughout the Alpine National Park and on the construction of the new Packhorse Track for Falls Creek Resort Management, and in NSW Brett has worked at Mt Wollumbin National Park (formerly Mt Warning National Park).
