Walking Track Planning

In consultation with clients, TTMS will determine the best alignment for your new walking track or realignment for your existing track to solve environmental issues, such as eroded track surfaces, and safety issues, such as fall heights, while also taking into account cultural values and environmental sensitivities.

TTMS can provide advice on the most appropriate construction techniques and the best materials to use for your walking track to ensure sustainable and aesthetically appropriate design. We can survey and assess the condition of any walking track, which can then be used as the baseline for future management priorities and funding submissions.

We will produce a detailed report for your new or upgraded walking track, with detailed technical information and construction costings for each section of your walking track, including site maps produced by GIS software.

Walking Track Construction

TTMS will build your new walking track or upgrade your existing track to be long lasting, low maintenance, safe and aesthetically appropriate for its environment. We will build your track to conform to Australian Walking Track Standards (AS 2156.2), whether it is a high-grade barrier free path or a remote bushwalkers' track to a high alpine summit.

We will build or upgrade your track whatever the environment and wherever the location anywhere in Australia - from the coast to the subtropics to the high Australian Alps - calling upon on our extensive range of track construction skills, from drystone techniques to curving timber bridges and boardwalks. We have pioneered the use of many track construction techniques in Australia.

Walking Track Maintenance

TTMS also undertake maintenance of walking tracks, including vegetation clearance, hazard tree removal, and repair of eroded sections of tracks, including improving drainage, reforming of track surfaces, and repair of steps, boardwalks and safety barriers, to ensure your tracks meet public access expectations and safety requirements.

We are specialists in remote area work, and are able to work for extended periods on long sections of walking track which are inaccessible by road. We do this by using lightweight bushwalking techniques to walk into the work site and establish self-supported and mobile tent campsites.
